Introduction:
Astraeus is a full body exoskeleton prop created from the ground up by Dante’s Workshop for demanding real world use. Nearly one and a half years of prototyping, refinement and field testing preceded its release, with every part engineered around durability, mobility and mechanical function. The Alpha Version represents the first production release of the Astraeus platform. This launch configuration is available exclusively in our Desert Sand and Black dual tone finish, created specifically for the first generation of the system. With a total of 856 individual components, Astraeus is not a conventional cosplay costume. It is a heavy duty wearable exoskeleton prop built for outdoor environments, intensive use, Mil-Sim and airsoft applications.
Construction:
Every Astraeus consists of 856 individual components:
- 641 metal reinforcement, mounting and fastening components
- 198 individually manufactured 3D printed structural parts
- 17 secondary system components including cables, cords and related elements
The structural components are manufactured from modern engineering polymers selected according to the mechanical requirements of each part. These include ABS, glass fiber reinforced ABS and carbon fiber reinforced nylon. Internal aluminum brackets and base plates provide additional rigidity at major load bearing areas, while steel fasteners and reinforcement elements are used throughout the assembly. Every component is designed to follow the natural movement of the human body as closely and comfortably as possible. The articulation and geometry of the system allow a wide range of movement, from crouching and prone positions to running and other intensive activity.
Adjustment and Fit:
Astraeus provides extensive mechanical adjustment throughout the system.
- Three position upper arm length adjustment
- Three position forearm length adjustment
- Three position upper leg length adjustment
- Three position lower leg mounting adjustment
- Three shoulder width configurations
- Three hip width configurations
Shoulder and hip width are adjusted through interchangeable structural elements, all of which are supplied with the system.
The complete exoskeleton is built around an included JPC carrier which forms the central mounting platform of the system. The carrier retains front and rear SAPI plate compatibility, allowing plates to be installed according to the wearer’s preference.
Intended Use:
Astraeus was engineered as a functional, heavy duty wearable prop rather than a conventional display or cosplay piece. Its materials, construction and mechanical design were selected specifically to tolerate repeated field use. The system is suitable for Mil-Sim, airsoft, filmmaking, professional costume applications, exhibitions and high end prop collections.
Made to Order:
Every Astraeus Alpha Version is manufactured exclusively to order by Dante’s Workshop in Europe. If body measurements are provided before manufacturing, we assemble and configure the system as closely as possible to the wearer’s optimal dimensions before delivery. Individual sizing solutions beyond the standard adjustment range are also available upon request as a custom order.

Each Astraeus is individually manufactured, assembled, adjusted and quality inspected in our European workshop before delivery.
Please be advised that Astraeus is a wearable prop and does not provide powered movement assistance. The only mechanical assistance present in the system comes from the limited load relief generated by integrated torsion springs in selected joints.
