The second version of our Honkai Star Rail Screwllum helmet builds upon the foundation of the original project, with several major refinements in structure, fit, functionality, and finish.
One of the main goals of this version was to improve the overall wearing experience while preserving the distinctive proportions of the character. Since Screwllum is designed as a robotic character rather than a human wearing armor, adapting the helmet to an adult head required careful balancing between accuracy, comfort, and visual presence. For this updated version, the internal geometry was further adjusted based on customer feedback and prototype testing, allowing for a more personalized and stable fit.
The helmet features a revised rear opening system with a double magnetic locking mechanism, making it easier and more comfortable to put on and remove. The interior was also refined with additional material and a new padding system. Multiple padding thicknesses can be used to fine-tune the final fit, while extra space around the ears was preserved for comfort.
The visual finish was also reworked for this version. Instead of a cleaner painted appearance, we created a more realistic metallic, cast iron-inspired surface treatment to give the helmet a stronger physical presence and a more believable mechanical character.
As with the original design, the helmet includes two interchangeable magnetic faceplates. One version features integrated LEDs, while the other allows visibility through the face area. The monocle system was also improved so that it no longer moves loosely, but sits as a more solid and unified element. It remains magnetically attachable and compatible with both faceplate options.
For the electronics, the controller was redesigned into a much smaller and more practical external unit. It can be carried easily in a pocket, runs on a 9V battery, and connects to the helmet through a detachable connector.
The final helmet was produced using reinforced ABS and fiberglass-reinforced ABS components, giving the piece improved strength while keeping it suitable for long-term use.
