Description
This special edition cyberpunk-inspired katana was designed with a focus on minimalism, where sharp geometry and pure steel speak louder than ornament. Built for precision and presence, it captures elegance and power in their most distilled form.
Introduction:
Katanas are experiencing a rebirth in futuristic settings, where ancient archetypes meet neon-lit skylines. The Ryūjin Minimal Katana was created to explore that intersection—removing decoration, embracing reduction, and finding beauty in clarity. Since our earliest experimental blades in 2021, we’ve been expanding the language of modern swords. With the Ryūjin, we pushed further toward simplicity, stripping the design down to its essential structure: a straight, unforgiving edge that feels both timeless and forward-looking.
Every blade we create is born with its own narrative. The Ryūjin carries the spirit of a weapon forged for tomorrow’s battles—simple, yet uncompromising. Named after Ryūjin, the dragon god of the sea, it channels the same commanding presence and raw force once feared and revered in ancient myth. It doesn’t rely on advanced modules or energy cores; instead, its strength lies in its honesty. Steel, sharpened to perfection, ready for the kind of world where form follows function and minimalism itself becomes an aesthetic of power.
Materials and parts:
The standard materials of the blade and the core of the handguard are a high-grade magnesium alloy, with an option for a superior, ultra high-grade hardened steel version. As the very first step of manufacturing, the shape of the sword and the tsuba were precision CNC milled from a single block of metal. Following the cutting process, the kanji letters (Ryüjin) were engraved. Since a simple paint job would not have met our expectations, we used a combination of two methods to achieve a smooth, matte surface: sandblasting and anodization in the case of the standard blade, and phosphate coating for the hardened steel version. The steel variant has a slightly lighter gray color compared to the anodized magnesium alloy due to its manufacturing techniques. The final step in the metalwork process was CNC milling the edges. The handle was precision 3D printed from glass-fiber-reinforced ABS.
Each variant of the Ryüjin Katana is made exclusively to order! The manufacturing time varies between 4 and 10 weeks, depending on our current workload. For more information, do not hesitate to contact us!
